Individual lessons of the Estonian language



Preparation for school
  • Children aged 6-7 years old (going to school next year)
  • Lessons in minigroups of 6 people
  • Lessons twice a week (3 each time)
  • One lesson is 35 min.
  • The course is 210 lessons a year (from September till May)

The course of preparing your child to school includes: speech development, teaching how to read, counting from 1 to 10, arithmetic, orientation in time and space, learning geometrical figures, orientation on a sheet and in a copy-book, shading, writing elements of script letters, introduction of working and auxiliary line, the sound-alphabetic analysis, division of words into syllables, stress, sentence, work with text and many others, provided by the program of preparation for school. Besides the teaching program, the child will learn the skills of a pupil and the children will be introduced to the interesting world of a first-grader. Together with preparation of children for school, we work with parents of the future first-graders.

The Estonian language
  • Childrens aged 4-6 years old
  • Lessons in minigroups of 6 people
  • Two times a week (one lesson 1 hour)
  • The course 140 lessons a year (from September till May)

The program «Estonian language» for preschool children includes audio and video courses. In the game form children increase the lexicon. There is big work to correct pronunciation: children study verses, play games, dance and sing, dramatize fairy tales in the Estonian language. At the lessons, a considerable quantity of hand-out material is used. After every lesson, each child gets a small hometask to consolidate the lesson material at home.

The basic themes of the course «Estonian language» for preschool children are:

Individual lessons with the speech therapist:

Early revealing speech pathology and its timely correction as well as profilaxis of speech impediments is the main task of a both speech therapists and parents having children of preschool and primary school age.

Speech therapists lessons are done individually, considering the age and individual peculiarities of a child.

The following directions are included into a lesson:
- correction of soundprononciation
- develop of phonemic hearing
- the general speech development

Interesting Estonian language
The course «Interesting Estonian language» offers help pupils of 5-6 grades to master the school program of the Estonian language. Course purposes are:
- Lexicon enrichment, its use in everyday speech
- Mastering grammar of the Estonian language (within the school program)
- Doing additional exercises – intensification of interest in the Estonian language by means of Estonian culture (visiting exhibitions, theatres, museums, reading Estonian children's literature)

The Estonian language and preparation for examination for pupils of 9 and 12 grades
  • Pupils of 9 or 12 grades
  • Lessons in minigroups of 6 people
  • Lessons 2 times a week (2 each time)
  • A course for 9 grades - 140 lessons a year (September - May)
  • A course for 12 grades - 120 lessons a year (September - April)
In addition to the school program the teacher pays special attention to solving tests, grammar, informal speach. In this work it is used off modern methodical, didactic, audio-video material, for people studying the Estonian language, as foreign. Regular attending classes helps to do well in state examinations in the Estonian language.

Working with each pupil individually, the teacher reveals problems in language studying. The teacher can help you:
– to do pupil´s hometask
– to explain difficult school material
If the pupil does not have any problems to do school hometask and all school material is clear, the teacher gives additional, more profound material on themes. Serious work is conducted on grammar and lexicon.
